Mansion House Retirement Home has been established, since 1987, to provide the best possible facilities for elderly people within the surroundings of an elegant country house.

Many Elderly people have for most of their lives enjoyed the security and privacy and independence of their own homes; but sometimes it becomes necessary for the elderly to receive the care and assistance that can only be provided by a residential home.

The objective of the proprietors will always be to provide a residence with, as far as possible, a "home from home" atmosphere. Residents are encouraged to pursue their normal family life, free from any petty restrictions. The intention is to make Mansion House like a private house rather than an institution or a business.

Mansion House is an historic country house listed as being of architectural or historical importance and dating back to the 14th Century. It has been described as being one of the most historic houses in Essex, due to its wealth of original Oak beams and the magnificent paneled hall.

The house has been refurbished and converted to the highest standards possible to provide first class accommodation whilst maintaining it's original charm and character. The property provides many features including a large, well-established and well-maintained garden with impressive country views overlooking the River Crouch to the front and the River Blackwater to the rear.
